One of our specialties is toughened glass, available for both the general public and glazing professionals.
Toughened glass (also known as tempered or safety glass) is a high-performance material that is much stronger and safer than standard glass. It’s made by heating regular float glass to around 650°C and then rapidly cooling it with jets of air. This process creates compressive stress, making the glass up to five times stronger. If broken, toughened glass shatters into small, blunt pieces, reducing the risk of injury compared to sharp shards of regular glass.
